Luigi_Ra 0 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 After a some reaserch with the plex app and the emby app in my UN55F6800 Samsung TV emby transcode 264 profiles with more than 4.1 video level, but plex not, plex app direct play a file with 5.0 video level JFYI :/
FrostByte 5392 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 (edited) From your manual "Supports up to H.264, Level 4.1 (does not support FMO/ASO/RS)" Though I suppose a firmware update could have changed that Can you post the mediainfo from the web client for the file you're having an issue with? Are you able to play it from USB without using Emby or Plex and does it still play? Edited May 10, 2017 by FrostByte 1
FrostByte 5392 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 (edited) Also, it's very possible your file is marked L5 in the header but actually conforms to all L4.1 standards which could explain why it's working on your TV if Plex isn't checking for the level. Lots of stuff out there is encoded incorrectly that way. This topic has been brought up before and it was decided the last thing you want to do is allow an actual L5 file to pass through without transcoding if the TV won't play it. There are tools out there which will change the header if that's the case with your file. Anyhow, please give us some more information Edited May 10, 2017 by FrostByte 1
