themimperials 4 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Hello everyone, I just got an Intel NUC, and just starting to set it up. I downloaded Ubuntu 17.04 off the Ubuntu webpage, to go ahead and install emby server on there. However I cannot find any instructions for the latest Ubuntu version? In the instructions (https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home%3Aemby&package=emby-server) I can only find for xUbuntu - I figured those might be the same as normal ubuntu. But then the latest version I can find for is 16.10? Should I just find verison 16.10 of Ubuntu or?
Jdiesel 1431 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 xUbuntu is the same as Ubuntu. You can try adding the repository for 16.10 and see if it installs.

Jdiesel 1431 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I've never noticed that before. Maybe that is what they are calling the most current release. As long as all the dependencies are being met it really shouldn't matter.
thatoneguy99 33 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 If you use a Media Center remote, it will not work with 17.04. Just a heads up. Sent from my phone!
Luke 42077 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 @@themimperials, were you able to use the 16.04 instructions?
themimperials 4 Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 @@themimperials, were you able to use the 16.04 instructions? Nope, it did not work unfortunately. But I had other issues with the NUC in Linux than just this, so I quickly wiped the machine and are going back to Windows 10. I will give it another go when Intel fixes their Linux drivers for the Kaby Lakes.
hurricanehrndz 149 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Ubuntu 17.04 is now enable, Ubuntu_Next is always enabled too for anyone trying the latest release. 1
