mbguy 40 Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) I tested web browser and Roku versions of Emby, there is a convenient way to browse via folder when "Display a folder view to show plain media folders" is enabled. Is there a way to: 1) do so on Kodi 2) assign certain folders as menu shortcuts? Edited April 28, 2017 by mbguy
Luke 42078 Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I'm not sure the Emby for Kodi add-on has implemented this feature yet. Why not try Emby Theater? You can learn more about it here: https://emby.media/emby-theater.html Thanks !

Luke 42078 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 No, but we do have an app for that: https://emby.media/emby-for-android-tv.html
mbguy 40 Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 You should be able to achieve what you want with any kodi skin that allows you to add custom shortcuts Yes that's what I thought so to, but Kodi doesn't tell me which feature/function/shortcut links to "Emby's Folder view". I think this is a question that Emby's team has to answer. Basically does Emby's folder correspond to any specific function/shortcut/view on Kodi? And if yes, what is it called? I also tried looking under Emby's Add-on menu but I don't see anything called "folder view" listed.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 (edited) No. Emby for Kodi brings your Emby library to Kodi. You'll never get 100% Emby because well, it uses Kodi and is limited by what Kodi can do. If you are talking about the plain view, like you would see when navigating your files directories, there is no such thing in Kodi other than file manager. The only thing you can do to change how the information is presented is either change the view type of your library (each library can have it's own) in Kodi. Usually, when you are in the library, there will be a side blade menu, which allows you to change that, but if you like none, then pick a different skin which will give you more ways to present the information in your library. It sounds like its an inherent limitation of Kodi, though it's so flexible in many ways. It's just that I've relied on the folder navigation feature for years on the Roku app now I'm a bit lost without it on Kodi. I hope one day this feature will be eventually ported to Kodi via some ingenous "hack". Edited May 13, 2017 by mbguy
Angelblue05 4132 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Doubt it. :/ you could get it if you use Kodi, and manually import your Emby content with sources. But then, you'd lose on the automatic management of your content with the Emby for Kodi addon. Why are you relying on folder/file view again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
