Emby Server not ignoring articles "the, a, an"

I've recently upgraded from MBC and everything is looking great except that my movie library is putting films starting with "The" under "T". Ditto for films starting with other articles like "A" and "An". I read a few previous threads but none of the solutions provided helped me.

I've used Media Center Master to create xml files in the past and understand this may have incorrectly populated the 'Sort Title" field. I did a batch removal of SortTitle from my existing movie.xml files and then completely removed and re-added my movie library in Emby Server but the problem still remains. I tried refreshing in the metadata manager but it does not remove the pre-existing Sort Title. When I manually remove the Sort Title, the film sorts correctly but, as you can probably understand, I don't want to manually do this for 500 or so files!

My assumption at this point is that the Sort Title is in the Emby library cache and when I remove and re-add my movie folder it is just repopulating from the cache. Is there any way to "mass remove" Sort Titles or completely refresh the library cache? Or is there some other solution to this issue I've overlooked? Happy to provide screenshots if required. Thanks!

You said you did a batch removal of Sort Title so what brought them back?  You can use a tool like notepad ++ to search all your xml and clear that field.  There are a couple posts here on the forum I will have to fine one to give you the steps.

This post provides the steps.

Performing a Library scan after editing the xml files will update Emby.

Ensure you uncheck "sort by the original folder instead of by media title" in MCM, if you are still using in it.  Application-S&P-Movies

Yeah, those are the steps I followed to remove the Sort Title data from my xml files. Emby has not generated nfo files as far as I can tell.
