Random naming

I am hoping this is a basic question to answer. i record tv on another computer with windows media centre and just have the emby server monitor the folder. issue is when i look at the folder through emby it puts S20, E17 in front of anything recorded in the last few weeks, some older ones have S20, E16 and then some very old ones are named correctly.

thanks

Hi there, can you give a specific example? thanks.

Here is a view of both the folder on the computer and the webpage through emby side by side. i am thinking somewhere emby is adding the extra bit to the file name display. i deleted the Iron man file as i watched it but the Blade file shows it has added S20, E17 to the front in emby.

All files except 1 recorded in march and april have s20, e17 on the front and all the ones recorded in Feb have S20, E16 in the front. i am sure it something basic i am doing wrong somewhere.

i have figured out it is geeting the episode and season from the date time group at the end of the file name.

Those are windows media center recordings? The problem is that is not following our supported structure for a tv library:

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV%20naming

So your choices are:

  • Re-organize the folder
  • Remove the library and add it back with content type home videos

Thanks, it has worked.
