Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Both my kids have tried to connect to my server using Emby Connect. Server is on Windows 7 pro, one child is on Windows 7 Home, and the other on XBox. I do have a Premiere account. For some reason I have multiple servers show up, but no matter which one they click on it doesn't connect. I enter the pin for them and all seems correct at that point. No other out of network computers are accessing the server. On My Daughters Windows 7 I have tried using both Emby for WMC, and Emby Theater, nothing wants to connect. Thoughts?
lorac 118 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Sounds like it could be a firewall issue. Is the correct port opened on your router? No problems connecting internally? What about giving them your external IP address and see if they can connect that way. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk
Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 I tried with firewall tuned off. I haven't tried the external IP though. Yes all computers in Network are connecting fine.
Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 It appears I can't connect to my modem to open the ports. Maybe a Chrome issue?
lorac 118 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 No. Chrome isn't going to prevent the other apps from connecting. Are you at home now? It sounds like a configuration issue with your router. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk
Luke 42085 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter. Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks !
Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 I got into my router by running Windows troubleshoot. Had a DNS issue, or something like that. I have added the port forwarding. I will try to catch one of the kids to test. I'll also check out that connection troubleshoot guide. Thanks
Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 OK, I followed the guide. At the bottom it mentions to check connection at canyouseeme.org I'm getting "connection refused". Any ideas?
Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 I did a factory reset on my router. setup wizard shows I have a dynamic IP (via DHCP). The only change I made was to set my wireless security to WPA2-Personal.
Soupy1970 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 I think I might have it figured out. Just need to wait for one of the kids to get home to test.
