Mane123 0 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hi, I have two seperate directorys .\Playlists with .m3u playlist files and .\Music with the music files. I chose the directory which contains both directories as a new music library. Previously I used Serviio and then I saw the playlists in the web interface and could play them but in Emby I can't find it. Is there a feature like this?
Luke 42080 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hi, we don't currently support m3u playlists but this is something we'd like to do in the future. thanks !
BajaPaul 2 Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 ...we don't currently support m3u playlists... Hi Luke. Do you have a link to where your playlist information is? I have been searching and checking but find no specific topic about playlist anywhere. Nothing in the Wiki. I have my music set up in MediaMonkey so can create playlist in a variety of formats. So where do I put them at? In the Music library under no folders like many programs, or do they need to be in a Playlist folder somewhere?
Luke 42080 Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 @@BajaPaul, here is our music naming guide: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Music%20naming We have not yet added support for music playlist files, but it is something we'd like to do in the future. thanks !
BajaPaul 2 Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 When you get around to entering support for playlist files I suggest you look to do it in a compatible way. Regarding various versions of Windows, I found that the *.m3u files are good way to go for support in multiple different audio/video software programs. Most of these programs will find the playlist.m3u files if copied directly into the "Music" folder. Anyway, this is what I did and Microsoft Groove (W10 Store App) picked everything right up. I am good to go when you add feature and your scan picks them up. Should not have to do anything. MediaMonkey has an AutoPlaylist feature which is really powerful if you have your music rated and organized. You can really filter down your music and it will make the playlist for you. Then it can export in various formats for other apps if needed. Cool feature but you don't really have to go that far....

RRo100 10 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Do you already have a schedule m3u feature? greeting
Luke 42080 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 What do you mean schedule? Do you mean scheduling recordings?
RRo100 10 Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 What do you mean schedule? Do you mean scheduling recordings? Sorry, I meant an implementation date
Luke 42080 Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 The next release of Emby Server will support importing music playlists. Thanks.
KDogggg 0 Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 It's a year since the System Architect posted this info, that you'll be supporting M3u playlists in Emby. Has that happened yet? I have crafted literally thousands of m3u files and would love to actually be able to use them on your system. I'm extremely new to Emby. I am quite impressed with it so far, but it is of little use to me without m3u support.

KDogggg 0 Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Thank you for your quick reply. When I first installed a few days ago they did not work. Now they do. If I have a shortcut to a playlist, will Emby see the shortcut and play the playlist?
