bardmaster 17 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I tried to open a channel from the Guide and it is stuck in the circle-icon loading. It has been in that state for about 2 hours before I finally killed it. Logs below. ffmpeg-directstream.txt ffmpeg-transcode.txt server log.zip
bardmaster 17 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 (edited) Update: this behavior is not specific to Live TV. I tried kicking off a TV show and the same behavior was exhibited. I noticed Emby was still trying to update the bottom screen with data (which was changing from cast to future episodes) which was still spinning, then the top part of the screen started spinning when I started the video and wouldn't stop. A common element is the spinning circle still persists even though I hit the back button to get to the main menu. The same behavior was observed with my post above. This time I tried to start up a different video but the command was ignored. So it appears the navigation still works but actions are frozen as the loading appears stuck in some kind of loop. ebr 16178 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 If you are able to navigate, please follow the instructions here to send a log from the app when this happens. Thanks.
bardmaster 17 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 Hi @@ebr, I posted logs in my first post when I first experienced the anomaly related to loading a Live TV channel. After poking around my TV library I was able to get it to recur - see new logs attached. I let the circle spin for about 5 minutes trying to play Game of Thrones S1E3, then hit the Back button - but this time it canceled the request and the spinning circle did not persist. I don't even see that episode in any of the logs. I tried running an episode of Downton Abbey immediately after and that episode started up. The anomaly in TV appeared, to my untrained eye, related to the "next up" section not loading completely before I hit the Play button, but I'm honestly not sure if that happened this time. I'll post again if I get the persistent spinning circle even when hitting the Back button to get to the main menu, but figured I'd post my latest results. ffmpeg-transcode.txt server log.zip
ebr 16178 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hi. I need you to follow the specific instructions in that post to send a log from the Roku app. Emby for Android TV/Fire TV and Emby for Roku (New Beta version only) Logs These apps have the option to send an app log to us electronically. You enter the settings page and turn on the "Debug Options". Now there will be a new tile on your home page settings row labelled "Send Log". Reproduce your problem and then use this button to send the log. Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time Thanks.
bardmaster 17 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 My bad, I thought I was doing the right thing since @@Luke was able to identify a transcoding issue from the ffmpeg logs I sent in a previous post. Sorry! However, I am trying to comply but feel like a N00B again as I enabled debug logging (in the Logs screen) but am unable to find any "Send Log" option in Settings anywhere. Where does this appear? (again, many apologies)
ifignella 12 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Restart the app. It will be at the bottom along side settings.
bardmaster 17 Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 Can you post a screenshot @@ifignella? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
bardmaster 17 Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 (edited) Disregard I finally figured it out. And I was able to reproduce the issue, though this time I didn't even get to start the TV video, it got stuck loading on the splashscreen. I let it run for about 10 minutes before hitting the back button (this time the spinner went away) and hit Send Logs. See also screenshot of what I ran into.
