Realtime monitoring, SMB share, fstab, current state?

Hi Folks,

I have been meaning to figure out something with the real time monitoring. I have my media on an SMB share, and within the VM that runs Emby I have fstab mounting the SMB shares on boot, so Emby isn't mounting them.

I tried looking it up, but I wasn't sure what the current good method is. I would like to figure out how to get real time (or near) monitoring going for this content so when I drop new stuff in, it picks it up.

As it is right now, it doesn't quite seem to be doing that, even though I have it turned on.

Please advise? :D

So... it could be working already, and you want me to try it out, see what the logs say, paste em kind of thing? Aka, try to reproduce it? ;)

The best thing to do is discuss a specific example, and then attach the emby server log from the time frame of that example. You can learn how to do that here:

Thanks !

Yes, I'm just looking to collect additional information.

By the way, you can enter an smb path directly into emby without first mounting it, as long as it doesn't require a username and password.
