movie.xml not being save on new items

I don't know since what version but i've noticed movie.xml is not being saved within media folders, i didn't notice as it still displays all the metadata... if i manually create the movie.xml and enter tmdbid it will populate the rest within the movie.xml.

don't think it's permissions as the folder/backdrop images etc are saved.

on latest dev version: 3.0.5154.43059

Metadata savers is selected (Movie Browser xml)

There are a lot of changes going on in the Dev channel in regards to Metadata, how it is retrieved and how it is stored. Until this is resolved, you'll see issues like this.

Best way to solve the issue is to post server logs when items don't get their metadata saved. Most likely cause is that a match wasn't found.

i anticipated using dev things like this would occur while changes are being made, just wanted to make sure it wasn't me :-) - it must get a match though because it adds all metadata so when viewed from clients wouldn't suspect a thing, it just doesn't physically save it to a movie.xml within the movie/media folder - this is why i hadn't noticed it sooner only reason i did notice was when i added my robocop boxset and the auto boxset plugin didn't add it as a boxset collection i noticed and i think that's why, no movie.xml file to read from (i assume)

i will try going through the logs to see what it outputs... thanks for the info though!

I've had a little wonkiness with Metadata myself so it isn't just you. Luke is looking into the issues.

Yep, I've seen it too.  I get most of my movie xml files when I add new movies, but once in awhile I don't and I just hit the edit button and save and it creates it.
