HI the android box I have has android 4.4.4

 

I have installed an older version of emby, opened it

 

However when its opened it doesn't give me a pin number, instead just says PIN

You must have installed the mobile app?  The TV app does not support anything less than 5.0 (that was the beginning of Android TV).

Wow.  Okay.  I'm afraid that isn't going to work.  Sorry.  We are currently on 1.3.35.

 

You may be able to get the mobile app working, however - depending on what kind of input devices you have.

Sorry, no.  As I mentioned above, it requires at least 5.0 because that was the introduction of Android TV.  I honestly don't know how you got it ever installed on 4.4.4.

Okay, well that's not a standard method of installation.  The app needs to be installed from the Play Store and the store will not allow you to install it on an incompatible version.

 

That is the bottom line here - Android TV doesn't exist in Android 4.4.4 so there is no way for the app to work properly.  Sorry.

Thats a shame because there an awful lot of devices running older version of android

Encountered the same problem, my tv is android 4.4.2

use emby for kodi, emby is work fine now
