Himedia Q5 Pro "file no longer in library"

First - I can't find a log. I've been to the onscreen indicator location through a file browser and also to all 3 locations listed in the wiki for a kodi log on Android - when I get to files there's just "empty."

My problem is Kod 17.1 on both Android 5.1 and 7.0 cannot see some files on one of my two servers. On the server that's having trouble, I assumed it was security, file substitution and/or SMB setup. This is what's weird - I can navigate to one of my iso's and press it within the file manager and tell it to open in Kodi and it does!! So after going through a bunch of SMB setup wikis' and other folks' problems I don't think that's the problem. In the file explroer I even see "SMB://pathname/file" and it's correct, and gets sent to play in Kodi.

Everything on my second server is just fine. I've tried to mirror that server but no luck ... there are some security differences on users that i can't change but the main ones Me, Administrator, Administrators, have read/write and Administrators are owners.

I am getting the onscreen error

Kodi can't locate file smb://whs2011/disc/movies/The Deep End/The Deep End.ISO" you may need to verify your network credentials in the add-on settings or use the Emby path substitution to format your path correctly. Stop syncing?

I do not know what to do next.

I fixed this by reinstalling WIndows 2011. I got a tip when I was adjusting folder sharing and got an error warning that essentially said 'no special characters in username' well there weren't any. I noticed that some of the owners and 'read/write' users had IDs like {78y12-38929-kdlf83-39jkfd}. At that point I just stopped and reinstalled the server & then emby & kodi. Hope his is of value to someone one day at least one time :)
