Batch tagging movies

What I would like to do is batch tag around 100 movies in my library with a certain tag ("tagA") that have a certain bitrate or higher.  It is my understanding that currently there is no way to do this other than manually applying a tag for each movie (correct me if I'm wrong).

 

Would it be possible to access the database files and query them for bitrates >= x ? Then do an update on the database adding "TagA" to these movies?
