rmasri 1 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Hi there, I have been using emby server for almost 8 month and haven't had any problems with it until recently. I think the problem started showing up after I upgraded Kodi to the latest version but it could be just a coincidence. My watched tv series have been resetting to unwatched on daily basis and sometimes after a library scan. When that happens (or every morning) I have to manually log onto the emby server and reset them back to watched, The shows are reset randomly I mean one show can be set to watched today, reset to unwatched tomorrow and the day after remains as watched but it is reset the day after that. It is only happening with TV shows and not with Movies or any other category which I have. Trying to resolve the problem I uninstalled the trakt plugin, recreated the TV show folder, installed the beta kodi plugin, uninstalled the emby plugin from devices which I am no longer using, and reset my local kodi database on all my devices. The only troubleshooting step that I am left with right now is uninstalling emby completely and re-installing it but not sure if that will fix my problem. Can anyone think of anything that might cause this weird problem? Thank you very much
Angelblue05 4132 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Something else must be resetting the watched flags in your nfos. Are you using a third party that handles them, like sonarr?
sircolby45 0 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I had something similar happen to me today, but instead it marked things watched that shouldn't have been. I had just finished episode 7 of 13 and then all of a sudden the whole season was marked as watched. I hit stop on the iOS app while streaming to Chromecast Ultra a few seconds before episode 7 actually ended if you want to know the exact steps that I took to make it happen.
rmasri 1 Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) Now that you mentioned it yes I just started using Sonarr and Radarr, around the same time. I thought Sonarr is a sickrage replacement and it doesn't mark episodes as watched. Edited April 18, 2017 by rmasri
Luke 42079 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 If you enabled syncing watch data to nfo's in Emby nfo settings, then you will need to make sure that no other programs are touching your nfo files or you may have problems.
rmasri 1 Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 Where do I find this setting? I looked for it everywhere and can't seem to find it. I never had this problem with Sickrage, should I turn off media renaming and metadata download in Sonarr and let emby do that? Thanks
Happy2Play 9780 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Check Dashboard-Library-NFO setiings-"Sync user watch data to nfo's for:"

This setting only benefits people who use Emby without our plug-in - meaning they watch their content in straight Kodi correct...?
Luke 42079 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 But it's creating enough troubleshooting for us that I'm inclined to drop it at this point.
ebr 16184 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 But it's creating enough troubleshooting for us that I'm inclined to drop it at this point. That was exactly what I was getting at. Seems like the audience for which it is useful is way smaller than the one for which it creates problems.
rmasri 1 Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Found it ... for some reason I thought it was a check box setting and was searching through that, I just set it to None and reset all the shows back to watched. Hopefully that does it. Thanks everyone.
rmasri 1 Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Disabling nfo syncing seems to have fixed my problem ... thank you very much everyone.
