What type of processor for 3-5 concurrent transcodes?

My current build is having trouble keeping up with the number of transcodes that are being asked of it.

 

What processor range should I be looking at to have the system still respond well under 3-5 1080p streams?

 

As i understand it, the processor is the workhorse for transcoding, so I'd like to get a ballpark cost amount for what I need to spend on that before I start looking at other components.

My server runs on an i7 6700k. I have my TV recordings transcoded, and I can transcode 3 at a time with ease. For playback, you can enable quick sync for transcoding.

What is quicksync? I can't seem to find it in the settings.

QuickSync is Intel's GPU transcoding. In the server, look under transcoding.

If you're building a new server, you may want to consider an i7 7700k, as has a better GPU and better hardware acceleration

Sorry, so this isn't an Emby setting? It's in the processor settings? I didn't even know processors had settings (I'm a noob... still).

Do you know how to open the server dashboard? Just look on the left side for transcoding. Mine presently set to none, as there was an issue transcoding H265 (which I need to test again)

i use an i3 3220 it handles 2 streams fine. aslong as i stagger the start it can transcode another one. think i would be pushing it to transcode more than 3.
