icthusman1 23 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I am trying to update my server from 3.0.5115.35703 to 3.0.5135.31685. MediaBrowser is telling me that I must shutdown MB and do the install manually. I shut down the service and downloaded the installer from the website. Everytime I try to install I get the same error. The user account I am using is a local system admin. I granted rights to the "System" folder to Everyone with full access. I have tried running the installer as Admin and normally. Nothing I tried has helped. The system I am using is running Windows Server 2012. I can post logs if need be.
Solution Luke 42077 Posted February 11, 2014 Solution Posted February 11, 2014 make sure the service isn't running in the background, and also make sure the tray icon isn't there. 1
icthusman1 23 Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 make sure the service isn't running in the background, and also make sure the tray icon isn't there. Thank you sir. I did a reboot of the server and since the Windows Service will not auto-start and I don't have the tray icon start automatically, I was able to do the install now. Even though I was shutting things down previously, without the reboot something must have been hanging on and keeping me from installing.
