Bitstream with no bitrate

Not sure there even is a problem but looking for someone who might know. I set Emby to Bitstream HDMI. All appears and sounds well. My Yamaha reports DTS-HD but the odd part is it reports no bitrate (-- is technically what it reports). So I am wondering if it actually is Bitstreaming or is Emby doing the decoding? Xbox One reports a very high bitrate wired the same way... I'm confused

 

Is there an easy way to tell?

Is your receiver supposed to show the bitrate? My pioneer elite, doesn't. I don't remember if the Yamahas that I've owned, would display the bitrate. It does appear that you are bitstreaming, or it wouldn't display DTS-HD.

It's new, not sure.  The XBOX One bitstreams DTS at it reports a bit rate for that, so I would think so.  Mediainfo:

I don't think your receiver displays the bitrate, only what it's bitstreaming. But look in your manual at the page where it shows the display. It'll tell you right there, but you are bitstreaming, correctly.

I think because xbox will only bitstream the dts core, which has a bitrate. the desktop app will bitstream the full dts-hd ma.

I guess that makes sense based on this Wikipedia entry:

 

DTS-HD Master Audio supports variable bit rates up to 24.5 Mbit/s. The format supports a maximum of 192 kHz sampling frequency and 24-bit depth samples from 2 to 5.1 channels, and 96 kHz/24bit resolution up to 7.1 channels.

 

I'm guessing maybe it doesn't report for DTS-HD because it's variable but you'd definitely know better than me.
