New layout breaks folder view

Hi guys,

The new layout in 2.5.40 really doesn't work if you use folder view and organize your movies in folders.

For example, I have a folder called Oldies with a lot of pre-1960 movies in it. Inside that folder is another one containing all my Three Stooges shorts. This organization means I don't have to look at all 26 years worth of Three Stooges movies if I want to find an Oldie to watch. I see my individual movies, and another, separate folder for the Three Stooges.

In the new treatment, when I open Oldies and select Movies, every single movie is shown, including all the Three Stooges movies. This has basically broken my folder organization, and I don't like it at all.

I used the Stooges as an example, but I have multiple cases exactly like this of movies that I personally organized into folders to make browsing easier. None of it works any more.

Also, I don't appreciate the fact that when I click on a folder, I'm offered a "home screen" with a row of options on top to sort by Suggestions, Unwatched, Movies, Genres, Year, etc. I want the default to be Movies but with my folder organization, with those other things as options.

Can you please go back to the old way of viewing folders?

Please?

P.S. I'll say it again: we need a way to allow users to opt out of receiving updates. You're not even updating the version number any more, just pushing updates and I have no choice at all any longer. Not cool. I want a stable version of Emby Theater that I like (not that you guys like), and then stay with it.

Hi, I'm not able to reproduce this but will continue to test it. Thanks !

Thanks Luke.

That's actually good news since I thought you had changed the UI design, but you seem to indicate it's a bug.

This is happening on both my PCs, running Win 10.

Thanks. It's already resolved so you should have the update soon.
