I've set my bitrate limit on my server to 10 mbps. However whenever I watch anything with Auto quality set, it seems to go to max by default, ignoring my hard limit on server end. Client was requesting 60mbps, well above my hard limit. Is there an issue with this setting? I can manually set the client limits and get good playback, but with quite a number of devices and few users it could be an issue getting to everyone.

Hi, we're sorry to hear about this. In order for us to best help you, please discuss a specific example, then accompany that example with the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks !

Thanks, I added a txt file with log info. I went to play holy trinity episode of grand tour remotely on chrome. Right after playing I noticed the "auto" setting was showing 60mpbs, which is way above what I set on the server end. This resulted in stuttering playback. I only played it for 20 seconds or so.

It's respecting your limit, which you can see in ffmpeg log. The app just isn't aware of it, since it doesn't really need to be. The viewer sets their quality level based on their network, you set yours based on the server, and then the actual result is a function of the two.

Thats a little misleading then, the client end saying I'm getting something different. Auto says 1080p 60 mbps.. if i set it down to 1080p 4 mbps I'm fine.

We will have to label it differently. The value you see is what the app reports to the server as it's supported maximum.
