Disable IMDB connection for People?

Hi Again,

We're using Emby to display student work at our institution.

However, when we add a student name to a project like "Katie Li" it does not accept this, and auto-corrects to "Katie Lightfoot"

I have all IMDB connection turn off in preferences. Is there something else I'm missing?58e5a43a3540e_imdb.png

Hi, on that screen, use the dropdown to customize settings for People, then uncheck the various metadata providers. Let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Hi,

I disabled the feature as suggested - and it appears to no longer be auto-filling names.

However, some names will simply not add.

I will enter the artist "Katie Li" - When I save, emby declares "Item Saved" - but the People field is blank. Returning to edit the item also shows no entries have been added to "people".

Headscratcher!

I'm guessing you didn't actually add the person to the actor list.

Hi, I just test this with no problem found. please remove all customizations to the web app, then try again. Thanks !

Ok, will do.

One more thing:

The entires are created in metadata/people.

Is there anywhere "people" information is stored that I can manually remove an entry in order to re-enter it? I've entered some names 5-10 times without it taking, perhaps clearing the files can help?

I ask because 95% of people work, but 5% do not.

My bet is a People metadata mis-match which is always that 5% that is like finding a needle in a hay stack to fix.  If you search for "Katie Lightfoot" what does the metadata show.  Does anything show if you search for "Katie Li"?  If so what does the metadata show.
