Burrito78 15 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) Hi, i'm trying to solve this problem for a few days now and i think i might need some help now. I installed Emby for Kodi like described here: https://emby.media/emby-for-kodi.html 1. In the install wizard i enter "Manually Add Server" (it's not listed) and enter my IP 192.168.2.2 then i login with my Emby Server user. 2. I click on "Native (direct paths). 3. In "Add network credentials" i get this info window: I don't know what this box is trying to tell me. In my emby library this is shown (example for Movies): 4. Since i can see my NFS share in Kodi just fine with the following network path, i enter it in the next screen: nfs://192.168.2.2/volume1/media/ 5. Next the wizard asks for a User. I enter nothing and click OK, since this is NFS and there are no users. 6. I quit Kodi and restart. 7. The result is always this: Does anyone have any idea? About my setup: Server Synology NAS with SMB and NFS shares. Setup according to this wiki: http://kodi.wiki/view/NFS Emby Server installed and working without problems. Libraries are added and scanned. I didn't configure any “Path Substitution” or "shared network folder" because i think i don't need them with my configuration. Kodi Running on macOS (current version), new install, deleted old Userdata (~/Library/Application Support). Why NFS: I have AppleTV with Infuse and Odroid C2 on the same share and its much quicker on slower hardware. Why Native (direct paths): I'm just using Kodi locally and i want to play back the files and don't need the other features. Bare bones, so to say. See attached kodi.log for further information. mastrmind11 722 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Set the optional network path in each of your libraries and run a library scan.
Luke 42078 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 @@xnappo can the above error dialog about path substitution be updated to the new optional network paths? Thanks !
Burrito78 15 Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Thank you mastrmind11! It's all pretty clear once you get behind how the plugin works. Below find my step-by-step instruction if anyone else is having this problem. TLDR: Set up "Optional (Shared network folder)" to let Emby Server tell the Kodi Add-On where your files are when using NFS. Synology Configuration: Emby Server Configuration, do this for every shared library. After setting this up, do a rescan of your libraries. Next install the Emby for Kodi Add-On, the install wizard starts automatically. Click on "Native (Direct Paths)". Click on "No". The library updates and you are done! Thanks to all devs and support guys (Luke!) on this forum!! Regards, Burrito78 Edited April 5, 2017 by Burrito78 1
