madmalkav 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I'm trying Emby, I'm liking it so far but the metadara retrieval is giving more wrong results than Kodi or Ples. In example: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4016934/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 I had this movie in a file called La doncella (2016).mkv , but Emby retrieved the metadata for another movie. After changing the name to The handmaiden (2016).mkv , it was retrieved OK. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2013293/?ref_=nv_sr_1 For this movie, I have the file El viento se levanta (2013).mkv . But Emby is retrieving metadata for http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3876100/ Lastly, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1289401/?ref_=nv_sr_1 File is named Cazafantasmas (2016).mkv , but metadata is retrieved from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4976984/ I have the library configured as Spanish / Spain. I don't know if there is some other options I can use to improve the metadata retrieval or renaming the files with the english titles is the only option at the moment.
Luke 42083 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 For the first one, look at the results on MovieDb: https://www.themoviedb.org/search/movie?query=La%20doncella It places this higher in the search results: La niebla y la doncella
Luke 42083 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 For the third one, look at MovieDb, see the first result: https://www.themoviedb.org/search/movie?query=Cazafantasmas
Luke 42083 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 For the second one, this is the only result that comes back from MovieDb: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/149870-kaze-tachinu
Luke 42083 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 It looks like this needs to be reported to MovieDb.
madmalkav 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) Seems the problem comes from themoviedb search engine. All those movies returns the proper result when searched for in IMDB, with or without adding the year to the search. themoviedb list unrelated movies and shows no results if you add the year. Can I change the prefered search engine in some user option? PS: moviedb accepts y:XXXX as parameter to parse the year , but even in that case cazafantasmas y:2016 gives El fenómeno Cazafantasmas before Cazafantasmas, which makes no sense at all IMHO. Luke 42083 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 MovieDb is the best option we have. Imdb would require us to pay a very expensive license, which we are currently not doing. If you know if another source for metadata for your country then please by all means let us know. thanks.
madmalkav 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 Moviedb have the correct info, it is the search results being somewhat weird the cause of the problem. I have just tested Filmaffinity and it gives proper results if search string contains year, but I don't know the site well enough to say if it is a good option. Also, I have no idea about license fees. PS: themovedb results for "El viento se levanta" are OK, yet I got the wrong metadata. Strange. I'll happy do all the tests you ask me in the next days. Now, it is bedtime in Spain
Luke 42083 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 @@Happy2Play, yes, but for these examples I checked Omdb and it came up with 0 results, therefore it would move onto the next provider.
madmalkav 0 Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 (edited) Some good old thread necromancing here.I haven't used Emby in some time. Situation is the same for moviedb -I never got to report this issue-. For OMDB , it does almost all results right, but:A ) I get all the titles in english even if my library is configured for Spanish. Curiously, I get spanish titles in the downloaded images. B ) La Doncella still gets the wrong movie, even when it is the first hit in OMDB web -perhaps caused by the language issue?-. Edited March 13, 2019 by madmalkav
Luke 42083 Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Hi, Omdb only has english metadata, so if you set this as your highest priority fetcher, then that's why this would happen. What does La Doncella get matched as?
madmalkav 0 Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 The Mist and the Maiden. I think that if I stay with Emby for enough time, I will try to see how to do a FilmAffinity scrapper. It seems by far the best options for spanish language users.
