fboyer 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Hi, I was wondering if there were any plans to add Emby Live TV as a fully supported backend for Kodi Live TV feature? (Or maybe there is a way I don't know about now that would allow me to do this) I love using Emby as my Media/Streaming Server but I prefer using Kodi as my frontend HTPC platform but I would love to be able to leverage Emby's remote streaming capabilities to provide Live TV for remote Kodi boxes. I guess if that is not in the plans I could always spin up a TVHeadend server, open it up to the Internet and serve my Live TV stream straight from there but then it would kind of break the whole "Start an Emby server and be done with it" idea. Let me know! Cheers!
fboyer 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 I am glad to hear this but I looked at the Trello board (pinned in this sub-forum) but I do not currently anything around that idea on it. Would you be able to help me by sharing a bit more about your thoughts/plan/priority around this? Thanks!
bluemonkey07 590 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) A proper live tv plugin for kodi would be a separate project from the emby for kodi plugin that has a Trello board. The current plugin is 3rd party ie not developed by the emby team, I believe a live tv add-on would require someone interested in developing it also Edited April 3, 2017 by Vidman

The Kodi plugin system for LiveTV is a completely different animal from the database/browsing addon. People have started and stopped looking into it several times...
