OT - Google Home comes to UK April 6 - £129

bugger, I work just over the road from a maplins. Ordered from google when I got the email this morning, it's arriving tomorrow. The postie better leave it!!!

I am waiting for Google Assistant to be released for the Nvidia Shield. If it works well, I will invest in the Nvidia Spot devices when they are released. I already upgraded both my Shield Controllers to the new ones in anticipation. 

 

I received two Echo dots for Christmas and my wife and I really don't like them that much. It will turn on my home theater with voice commands, "Alexa, turn on the Xbox" and "Alexa, turn on the TV" work fine. Sometimes saying, "Alexa, tell Harmony to pause/play my movie" while watching anything in any App on the Shield will work. Sometimes it doesn't. 

 

Sometimes Alexa turns on by itself and randomly says, "I'm sorry, I didn't understand the question". Pretty frustrating sometimes.

 

The video shown at CES by Nvidia impressed me. If it works as advertised it's worth it to me, especially since we have a Shield device both in the upstairs bedroom TV and the home theater set up in the Living room.

 

However, all that said, my remote works every time.
