helzayat 1 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I am quite new to Emby, having just started with it a few days ago. When I tried to install it on my Windows 10 machine it kept hanging where it was trying to install .NET Framework 4.62 even though it was already installed. I ended up downloading the portable version zip file, unzipped into a folder on a non-system drive, and ran ...\emby.windows\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe That worked fine, and I set up a library with several folders, all pointing to locations on my network, not on the computer I was running Emby on. Metadata was downloaded, images, etc. everything worked fine. Some TV shows I needed to "Identify" but eventually all was well. Now I hadn't quite thought out where I wanted Emby running, but I realize I need to put it on a different computer on the same network (so it will have the same access to the media folders). I tried simply copying the entire emby-windows folder to the other computer and running MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe there, but it seems it's not that simple. I ended up with an empty library. What is the correct procedure for moving an Emby PORTABLE server to another machine? I've looked at https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Backup but it doesn't seem to apply to the portable version. Thanks.
