Genyosha 0 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Dear Community, roundabout two years ago I've tested around with emby, but hadn't had enough time so I dumped it. Now I came back and am missing a feature, which I'm 100% sure I've had in the past. A feature that I've really liked: Back then I had Metadata for several Actors: Bio, Pics and I could browse to all Files including the actor. And I had kind of a shortcut to the actors on my dashboard, so I could browse the Actors and then for their files... Now I can save Metadata for Actors. But I cannot manage to browse by actors... and there is no link to the files for each actor in my Database. And I can't get an Actors-Folder (or something like that) on my Dashboard. I hope you can understand my problem. Is this Options-related, and I'm just not able to find? Or, perhaps I've had some extra features installed, but really can't remember how I made this happen. Does anyone have a clue? Or has this feature been abandonded? I tried to manage this by myself, but could'nt find anything close to a solution :/ System: Emby 3.2.7 on FreeNAS 9.10 --> Windows 10 Machines Thanks a lot for your help!
Luke 42080 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 We removed it because it was too slow. With recent database improvements we could probably bring it back. It is a possibility for the future.

As almost two year have passed since this request, any chance that the database improvements are by now good enough to support the feature to be able to browse by Actor?
Luke 42080 Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Well in 3.6 you'll be able to search people as well as see favorite people on the home screen. 1
