Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Can you please enumerate the 1% that was backed up and the 99% that wasn't? It didn't backup libraries or settings, users and their settings, collections, or anything in the metadata folder. It backed up server settings which aren't really useful without everything else. Just easier to back up the entire directory and use that.
Guest Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 The backup plugin does restore user data. User data could not do the restore, although I could see all users in the backup folder. Anyway the plugin did help in all the rest of the tasks, since it recreated everything, although it takes many hours.

The plug-in is a configuration backup plug-in and is not designed to backup your metadata. It will backup the libraries and their settings - however, if what you restore to doesn't have the exact same access and paths then there could be problems with that. The plug-in was designed as a backup solution as opposed to a migration solution - although some parts of it can be used for that if enough things about the two systems are identical.
