No Autostart of Mediabrowser Server

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello,

I had some Problems with Autostart of the Server. Sometimes ist started and sometimes not. Now i uninstalled all Server and Client and reinstalled both.

Server Version is: 3.0.5135.31685

OS is : Win7 64bit

The "Run server at startup" is checked and the service is disabled.

Should I use the Service instead? (Had als Problem with the Service)

Maybe an important information: After upgraded vom v2 to v3 i had no problems withe the startup.

I hope someone can help me!

Log is attached, and there an no Windows Event Log entries

Thank You

:)

One thing to realize is that "At Startup" should actually say "At Login" because the server application is running under a user account so it won't start until you log in to that user account.  Is that your issue?

What do you mean with "should actually say "At Login"?

I have "Autologin" enabled in Windows

I mean our server isn't actually going to start by simply starting your machine.  You have to log in the server user before it will start.  Those are two different events.  So a more proper label would be "At Log-in" instead of "At Start-up".

If your machine auto logs in and the server sometimes fails to start, we'd need to see a log from one of those failed start attempts.

Ok i understand the different events but how can i change this from "At Start-up" to "At Log-in"?

Are there any more Logs which i should post

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that you change anything.  I was suggesting we change the way the option is labeled.

You need to find a log from a failed start of the server.

I changed to the Mediabrowser-Service. I cant post any log with the other starup method because there are no failded starts.

At the moment the service is ok!

start service and start at login is 2 different things..

if the service is enabled then you just need to power on the machine where you can define the start service level with delay's ect.... if the server is at startup then the windows needs to be logged in..

hope this clears up the difference between them.
