Hardware Acceleration - Quicksync

I have in my server Intel Haswell which from what I understand supports Intel Quicksync.

 

Do I simply need to select Quicksync in the Hardware Acceleration section of the Emby Dashboard?

 

Or do you need to configure something on the server first to make it work?

 

I am running Centos 7

you need an ffmpeg build that supports qs.  You can see in your log when the server first comes up whether qs is supported by ffmpeg or not.  I think vainfo on the command line does it too (can't check as I'm not at home).  Pretty sure CentOS supports it natively so I don't believe you need to build a new kernel or anything..

Try VAAPI, it is easier to configure with the same results.
