dcook 299 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 So its well known that the user management functions of Emby are severely lacking, with no groups support, no ability to template or copy a user, and no LDAP support. Does anyone know of any "hacks" or "work arounds" to be able to make user management easier? For example, is there a way I can duplicate or copy a user somehow not using the Emby Dashboard? Perhaps via SQL Lite command?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Well a normal home sure is not going to have more than lets say a large family of 6, so six users. What is the point of all that. Now from a business I am connection everyone I can to my server that is another story. But as mentioned in other topics you can created all your users and configure one, then copy the config and policy xml in the user you configured to all the other users. (ie your template). 1

dcook 299 Posted March 25, 2017 Author Posted March 25, 2017 So I would just look for config and policy .xml files? Is there instructions for this? Happy2Play 9783 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Why would there be instuctions for it? It is a hack to give as many created uses the same settings. The key issue is you have to create the users first.
Luke 42085 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 There are no instructions because this is something that Emby community members have discovered is possible to do.
