johnvick 1 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) I have Emby-server running on an Odroid XU4 feeding Ordoid C2, Pi3, Android and Windows 10 devices - all running Kodi Krypton. I today noticed that one Windows 10 device has started to transcode all videos played through the web interface (it didn't before) but the same videos are played direct with Kodi on the same computer and to all other devices. This would seem to be problem with the Windows device and not Emby - but any way to solve this? John Example log: http://pastebin.com/bftPHasr Edited March 24, 2017 by johnvick
Luke 42080 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 hi @@johnvick, the app is doing exactly as you've configured it to do. This video is over 15mbps and the app is requesting a much smaller value, a 400k bitrate stream. That means either the automatic quality detection produced a small value, or at some point you customized the video quality and now that value is being remembered. Either way, try raising the in-app video quality. However you configure it, the app will do what you ask it to do. Let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Spot on and thanks - not sure how the quality settings got messed up - should have thought of that. All good now.
