Soupy1970 12 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Hi all! I'm realizing Emby isn't free anymore so I do plan to pay for Premium. My quespionage is will my daughter need to also pay to connect from college to my server? She uses Windows 7 and uses the Emby for Windows Media Center. Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Hi, all you need is Emby Premiere, which you can learn about here: https://emby.media/premiere.html Once you have a Premiere key, you just plug that into your server. Then all your daughter needs to do is install Emby Theater and connect to the server. She won't have to worry about anything Premiere related. Let us know if this helps. Thanks ! 1

I just joined Emby Premier. You say my daughter needs to install Emby Theater, does this mean Emby for WMC will not work out of network for her? Also, if I change my account password, will this block extended family I may have let log in? That's actually my goal is to block a member that I think shared my password.
Luke 42077 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Hi @@Soupy1970, thank you for your support. Your daughter can use any Emby app, including Emby for WMC. What password exactly are you referring to? Is it a password from a local Emby user on your server? Is everyone using the same user account?
Soupy1970 12 Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 The password for signing in to server from website. I changed my account just wondering if this would boot anyone that may have signed in previously that I wasn't aware of.
Soupy1970 12 Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 Yes, to an extended family member. I was just worried her son may have secretly shared it so I changed it. Just wondering if that solves possible unapproved access?

Just wondering if that solves possible unapproved access? To complete the answer here and to help you to control better access to your server, you could go onto server dashboard, and into users details, on the tab "Access" you uncheck "Enable access from all devices" and then you check the only one device from where the account is authorized to connect and play video from. So even if the password is shared to several people, the access would be granted only from the device you specified there ;-) 3
