Sledgehm 0 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Hello There, I had your Emby server running fine a few days ago, everything installed with no problems on my Windows Home server 2011, and i was a happy custumer. This morning i decided to remover Emby and reinstall it, because i had a problem with another program on my server. Now i have been trying all the options i know, but i get stuck here in a loop dat the installer keeps installing NET Frameworks 4.6.2, and after installing keeps doing this uintil the end of days i guess.. It is stuck in a loop, and as you can expect NET Frameworks 4.6.2 with al its latest updates is already installed with no problems. My question is there a seperate install version of Emby that does not check on the Framework? Or is there another way to solve this problem?

Odly enough i found an older setup.exe of 537 KB that did the trick of letting me install Emby once again (Yessss!!), but the new setupexe of 785 KB gives me the framework loop error..
blondini230456 0 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Hi, Where did you find the other setup.exe please
jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 For my part, it launch the .net framework installation, it detects the lastest framework is installed and operationnal, I click on "close" on the .net framework window and then Emby is not able to go ahead... like it doesnt detect the end of the .net installation! I'm blocked, I can't install the latest Beta version 3.2.8.8
Luke 42078 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Please try this installer: http://embydata.com/downloads/server/release3/setup.exe Thanks !
jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Works great! But I downgraded from 3.2.8.4 to 3.2.7...
jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Hum it says that I'm up to date with 3.2.7 in dashboard... I was pretty sure to have the Beta 3.2.8.4 installed... hum...
Luke 42078 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 The link I posted was to the stable installer.

jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Why are you using the setup.exe for Emby updates? It's an other subject but for my part auto-update wasn't working well because for some obscure reason my Emby app takes 4-5 minutes to shutdown, so the auto-update failed systematically. jscoys 147 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 (edited) Ok and in the meanwhile how can I bypass the blocked window for the installation of the beta? .Net framework says ".NET Framework 4.6.2 or a later update is already installed on this computer.", i click on "close" (No other choice) an then the Emby Server installation window doesn't go on... It is stuck on "Installing .Net Framework 4.62" Edited March 23, 2017 by jscoys
jscoys 147 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Install from the website. Ok Luke, you know that I love you ;-) but please read my posts before answering. I will be more explicit there : 1) I go on the website to download latest beta setup 2) I start the Setup.exe process 3) After some clicks, It displays a splash saying "Installing .NET Framework 4.62" and a .NET Framework update app/process is thrown in the background. 4) The .Net Framework update window says ".NET Framework 4.6.2 or a later update is already installed on this computer" and my only choice is to close this window. 5) So I close the .Net Framework update Window 6) The Emby Server Installation Splash (With Emby logo) is still there saying "Installing .NET Framework 4.62" and nothing happens, the installation process doesn't go ahead and I have to click on "Cancel" So, as I said before, I can't update my server through the Beta setup in the current state. Let me know if you need more info or tests. Thx.
jscoys 147 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 @@Luke thx a lot my friend! As usual you fixed the problem here! You rock! Thx! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
