Does the "Save metadata and images as hidden files" option apply to Libraries with the "Save artwork and metadata into media folders" option enabled?

Yes, but keep in mind it won't retroactively mark all existing metadata files as hidden. It is only for new operations going forward.

Does that mean Emby will eventually make all preexisting metadata and images hidden?

 

How can I initiate Emby server to save the existing metadata files to make them hidden?

 

Will that apply to existing images as well?

 

What about if I manually set the existing metadata and image files as hidden?

Eventually over time, yes, and yes this means images as well.

 

If you want to immediately mark them hidden, then I would do it directly in windows explorer.
