Joramilea 2 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 now I remember why I stopped trying to get Emby up and running last year. Cause I am having the same issues now. My husband who set up Emby before the update awhile back couldn't do it last year do to some health issues and now he just won't do it so I am on my own. With no computer help from him. So if you nice people here can help me get my server back up and running... I would be so grateful! Cause once it is up and running I usually have no issues with it. I downloaded Emby server and installed it after uninstalling what was already on my server.I am running Windows 7 OS.I go to http://localhost:8096/web/wizardstart.html like the direction says and I get a page that says " This site can’t be reachedlocalhost took too long to respond. Search Google for localhost 8096 web wizardstart ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT"
Joramilea 2 Posted March 19, 2017 Author Posted March 19, 2017 so so shut down and rebooted. Emby server program hangs at start up. I just don't know what I am doing wrong.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) could be a firewall issue? did the install complete without errors? try localhost:8096 without the wizard bit? Edited March 19, 2017 by PenkethBoy
Joramilea 2 Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) for giggles I tired Installing it on my personal computer and guess what? It installed and opened the localhost link just fine. Now what I did notice was it installed MediaBrowser Server. When I uninstalled Emby from my movie server I did not uninstall the MediaBrowser Server that was there just Emby server. Could that be part of my problem? I am going to uninstall that and Emby server again. then do a full fresh install. I really like this program and want it up and running again. I know I can do this. Edited March 20, 2017 by Joramilea
Joramilea 2 Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Im starting to think my server computer is jacked. There are things I can't do on it that I should. I can't even type in the IP address and get to that. My husband said I should. Also he said something about a proxy server. I don't know. I can't even get to options to see if that is true or not. SO.....So I am looking for my SSD to put into the computer and install windows 10 on it. I hope I can find that silly drive.
Joramilea 2 Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Happy to say, I bought a new HD and did a fresh install of windows 10 and installed Emby.IT WORKS GREAT!
