gleep52 17 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I've seen the CCExtractor tools available on the web, but since I don't have access to the command line when the recording takes place - it seems like it's a more server oriented service since the server starts the recording. Would it be possible (or is it already possible) to extract closed captioning for recorded TV shows? Save them as an SRT perhaps?
Luke 42079 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Well if anything we would just save them as part of the video container.
gleep52 17 Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 But if they aren't external, then there is the PCM audio translation when the app tries to use vlc to direct play and all that jazz... external seems to be the way to go to get the best audio and video... *shrugs*

We can handle those fine inside the video container.
