xbrentx5 0 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) Hello, and thank you to anyone who can take the time to help with this issue, I will explain as much as I can in detail. Pre-conditions you should know; - I run Emby server on a Windows box, and it has been working for around 6 months with no major issues. Small things here and there but I usually fix them within an hour or two. - I playback my content on my Xbox One or Chromecast, over wifi, using my phone and Emby mobile as the "remote" Step by step, what happens; - Turn on my TV - Open Emby on my phone - Connect to the Chromecast or Xbox, this will typically load the Emby logo on the screen if I'm using Chromecast. - Using my phone, I find the content I want to play, and I click play Normally, this would begin to play the content with no issues. Instead, it appears like it's going to play, the title shows up on the TV, the playback bar appears, but instead of playing, it locks up within the first milliseconds. The content will not play, no matter how many times you click play, it just sits there stuck within the first 1 second. Moving the playback bar to another period of the movie does not work. Here's the kicker, every now and then, something might decide it wants to play and work. I watched a movie last night that worked without an issue. Makes no sense when an issue like this is inconsistent. It's almost like a performance issue that I can't narrow down? So now you know the problem, let me share what I have done so far to troubleshoot; - A lot of different content, some needs transcoding, some is direct playback - Rebooting devices multiple times, including network devices like my router - I have tried hardwired cat6 to my xbox to see if it was a wifi issue - I have tried installing Emby server on my gaming desktop to see if my HTPC was dying or too slow - I have tried casting from my desktop computer to the Xbox or Chromecast with no luck * We know it's not a hardware problem, I've tried two computers, one being a high end gaming PC. I've also tried playing back on two devices, neither works. * We know it's not an internet problem, I'm playing locally within my network * We know it's not Emby mobile since it also fails when casting from the desktop application * I have also tried different versions of Emby, the latest stable release as well as the latest beta release. I have also tried reinstalling Emby. * I keep my Emby up to date as well, frequent reboots to keep the system fresh. If any logs are needed, please let me know where to find them. I am tech savvy, just need a bit of direction sometimes. Thanks in advance Edited March 17, 2017 by xbrentx5
mastrmind11 722 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Can you play stuff in your browser successfully? Or on your phone using the app?
xbrentx5 0 Posted March 17, 2017 Author Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) I tried 2 different movies, both worked in my browser, and I'm at work right now, so that was streaming from my house. I have 50mbit upload at home so the speed isn't an issue. So to answer your question, yes I can. EDIT; Just tried my phone, works fine too. Edited March 17, 2017 by xbrentx5
