PS3 not in server dashboard

Hi

 

I've noticed that my PS3 never appears in the server dashboard even if I'm successfully playing media via DLNA.  

Also I am unable to see my PS3 on my Android devices so I'm not able to use the Play-To feature.

The Emby server appears on my PS3 and everything seems to work fine.

 

Is this normal? Or am I missing a setting somewhere?

 

Server Version:  3.2.7.0

Is an update for this still in the works?

I'd love for the 'play-to' feature to be working on my PS3.

You should be able to play, it's just the progress reporting that may not work.

I don't see my PS3 in the list of devices on my Android app.

However I can play media by browsing within the PS menus.

Do other android apps like bubble upnp detect your ps3?

No bubble upnp doesn't detect it either.

Ps3 can see Bubble server though.

Ok then it sounds like a general network problem to me.

Either that, or given the age of the ps3 perhaps it just doesn't support the feature.

I think you could be right. I found this-

 

"The Playstation 3 is not a Digital Media Renderer (DMR), which is what is required for PlayTo to work.

Whilst the Playstation 3 is DLNA certified, it is only a Digital Media Player (DMP), which means it can only pull content from media servers. Content can not be sent to it remotely."
