archangelz 13 Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) It looks like the subtitle search for TV shows seems to be always be one episode off from where it is supposed to be specifically when the season opener is a two-parter. For example, I want subtitles for episode s01e05 and the premiere is a combined two-parter s01e01e02. Search always is coming up with results from s01e06 instead of the episode it's supposed to be on, s01e05. Any chance this can get fixed? Edited March 8, 2017 by archangelz
Luke 42080 Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 @@archangelz Here is an example where I do not see this occur. Notice on the left side of the screenshot episodes 1 and 2 are combined. So I guess the question is, if you want different behavior, then what information in the Open Subtitles API will allow us to do that? When we do a search we supply criteria such as: Name: Lost Season: 6 Episode: 3 And what you see in the results are what the open subtitles search engine comes back with.
archangelz 13 Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 Hm. That seems odd that it isn't doesn't impact all shows. I checked three shows I had with premieres like that and they came back with subtitle searches off. Did you find a season where this happened? If the search was only off for one episode, this wouldn't that bad. From what I can see though when the season is off, every episode after is off by one. It seems really odd that all the subs exist, but they are just off by one episode. I'll upload some logs when I get home later if it'll help but if it's on opensubtitle's side I'll pass it to them.
Luke 42080 Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Yes guidance from open subtitles on how to handle the situation would be helpful i think. Thanks !
