Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) Some screenshots grabbed on my phone. One is the Android app and the other is the web viewer via chrome in my phone. What's going on here? Edited March 6, 2017 by Sammy
Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) So I just logged in via the web browser at work and no German.. WTH?? I spoke too soon. This is my server log in. The one I use normally for viewing is a different account that doesn't have server privileges is still in German. Edited March 6, 2017 by Sammy
Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) A little background that may or may not help.. My Galaxy S7 was just updated to Android 7 Nougat last week. I haven't used Emby on it since before that but I don't see why that would cause the language issues. I just double checked and I still have German on my phone but not on the web interface via chrome browser. Edited March 6, 2017 by Sammy
Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 what you see is dutch not german Now I know.. Thanks.
Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 For the web app, are you using app.emby.media ? I am logging in through the public <ip address>:<emby port> of my modem / router.
Luke 42079 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 @@Sammy, can you see if the issue occurs on http://app.emby.media? Thanks !
Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 @@Sammy, can you see if the issue occurs on http://app.emby.media? Thanks ! The results are the same. If I tell chrome to translate, it does a decent job but some stuff is still in what I now know is Dutch.
Sammy 790 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 I changed the language from "Auto" to U.S. English but I still momentarily see the Dutch before the English when loading a page and it doesn't seem quite the same as before. It looks like chrome translation is still being incorporated.

If I tell chrome to translate, it does a decent job but some stuff is still in what I now know is Dutch. So I logged out and back in and no Dutch but the login I use for Emby Connect is not the same in that it doesn't preserve my watch history and other settings. I really don't use Emby Connect.
Luke 42079 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 The Emby Connect user must be mapped to a different local user on your server than the one you normally use. You can check this out by editing users on your server and observing the Emby Connect account they are mapped to on the user edit screen.
Sammy 790 Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 I don't know what happened yesterday but today it is back to English.
Sammy 790 Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) Any idea why that would happen? Even when I set the language to US English it stayed in Dutch. Edited March 7, 2017 by Sammy
Luke 42079 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I am not sure at this time but I am glad it is back to English for you. Thanks. 1

Luke 42079 Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Try clearing app data and see if the issue persists
Sammy 790 Posted April 29, 2017 Author Posted April 29, 2017 (edited) OK. It is in both the app and using the web app on multiple devices.. tablet and PC too. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk Edited April 29, 2017 by Sammy
Sammy 790 Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 @@Luke So I rebooted my NUC and loaded emby. On loading, it prompted me for the language. I choose English and all is well now on all devices I've checked. Any explanation as to how this would happen and more importantly, how to prevent it from happening again? Thanks!
Luke 42079 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Something must have wiped out your server configuration, thus forcing you to step through the startup wizard again.
