When setting up a media library with a content type of Home Videos and Photos, how important is it to "Lock this item to prevent future changes" in the Metadata Manager?

From what I understand, Home Videos and Photos content type does not apply any changes to the metadata, is that correct?

I've spent a lot of time setting up some media libraries with Home Videos and Photos content type, and because the content of the library is all non-commercial material, I never want the metadata to be change unless I change it myself. Is it necessary to "Lock this item to prevent future changes", just in case? For example, I stop using Emby for a few years then update to the latest version, then point Emby to the mentioned media library, open Emby WMC only to find that the library content is all messed up etc..

I just want to set the media library once and never have to mess with it again.

[Media Library is set to save artwork and metadata into media folders.]

Theoretically, no it wouldn't matter but It also shouldn't hurt to do it just in case there is a provider introduced at some point.
