Image management.

How smart is emby when it comes to images? For example, I have a few star wars fan edits in my library. Obviously it would make sense to use the same images from the real movies. If I identify one of the edits as episode 1. Will emby be storing the same image twice?

 

Also say I have two separate star wars collections. Lucas' collection and a fan edit collection. If u want to use the same backdrop for both, I feel like I should be able to navigate the file system to get the image. But I can only upload files from my client computer.

i have two movies identified as episode 1 {2 & 3}.... the original and a fan edit. is the banner image used for both movies the same image. or is the image saved twice... does that make sense yet lol

It would be saved twice.

Unless the banner belongs to a parent series then it would be shared.
