themimperials 4 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Hi Emby! So, I decided to try Emby out once again, and this time with more success. Still there are things I have not quite found out, and therefore I'm still on the fence about going for the premium package. Users When I set Emby up, the first user I created worked perfectly with access to everything. It has gotten all my watched statuses synced over from KODI/trakt and all is good. I then added a second user, because I would prefer to have one without administrative right for the family. This new user has no watched statuses at all, even though it is looking in the same libraries. Can I change it so that I am not interested in "per-user" for these kind of things, rather per-library? KODI modes I find it a little bit hard to see the exact differences, pros/cons etc for using direct mode and addon mode in KODI. My KODI device is not portable, and thus I always want to watch at full resolution and quality. Therefore I got it working in direct mode, where I linked the libraries to their actual NFS shares in Emby. Can you guys help me break this down to make sure I am running the best mode?
bluemonkey07 590 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) I think you could link both users to the same trakt account if that's what you really want to do. But does the admin account really need watched status? You could just switch the accounts and give the new one admin rights and remove admin rights from the synced account Edited March 5, 2017 by Vidman
ebr 16194 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I like Vidman's solution in your specific situation.
themimperials 4 Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 Well the thing is me and my wife each got separate user accounts. Only mine needs administrator privileges. They do however need access to much of the same stuff. I tried linking them both up with the same Trakt account. However the "wife" account does not seem to gather anything from Trakt, and everything is still unwatched.
themimperials 4 Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 What about the KODI modes part of my thread, anyone that can chip in on that? :-)
ebr 16194 Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 What about the KODI modes part of my thread, anyone that can chip in on that? :-) You can probably get a very quick answer to that by splitting that into its own post in the Kodi section. Thanks.
