Tolerant 74 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Moving stuff around due to a failing HDD and I noticed some people's images have both a folder.jpg and a poster.jpg with the person.xml. Which image is needed with the newest Emby (3.2.5.0) for Windows these days? Thanks
Happy2Play 9783 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I believe folder has priority over poster images. And currently person.xml and not used at all. Hope that will change again.
Luke 42083 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Actually poster gets higher priority. I realize for people, folder would probably make more sense.
SikSlayer 249 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 "folder.jpg" is also recognized by Windows. If you have a "folder.jpg" file inside a folder, you'll see it on the outside of the folder itself. I'm pretty sure other OS's do the same if I'm not mistaken. Although Windows 10 added a foolish change where its cropped now, but the point still stands.
Tolerant 74 Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 ahh dammit.. I deleted the Folder.jpg's after reading another post that mentioned Poster.jpg .. dammit all.. just removed 5200 images earlier.
Luke 42083 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 @@Tolerant, it doesn't matter, both are supported. What we're talking about here is which one gets priority if both are present. You're fine.

Well doesn't Windows us the first image in the folder? @@Luke it would be nice if the image order of precedence was listed in the wiki per the image charts. ahh dammit.. If you don't mind.. could you maybe mention what program would rename Poster.jpg to Folder.Jpg while keeping it in each person's folder if indeed that is the direction Emby wants to go and Emby does not supply a program / tool to fix / remedy this issue? (While keeping each image in its respective folder...) Or a link to a giant .zip / .rar file with all of the actors correct images and xml's that Emby needs? -- Thanks

Tolerant 74 Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 @@Tolerant please see post #7 Ok.. I read post #7..not sure what that is supposed to fix for me.. bought the lifetime license for $99 hoping it would offer many of the things I saw being developed in the last year.. only to find out many of them have been abandoned or changed? I don't mind supporting MCM and Emby (as I have done.. ) .. but I would hope that by doing so things would improve. I have simple needs from both.. I am just not sure where the problems arose and how to solve them as there never seem to be complete answers to all the problems with each. Since I am a fully paid lifetime member of each.. maybe someone would consider taking a little pity on me and message about some TeamViewer access to resolve some issues.. maybe??! ..
Luke 42083 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 In this topic you haven't mentioned any issues. We are happy to help. But you do not need to rename folder to poster or vice versa because either will work.
