Somewhat OT: What software to play physical DVD in Win 10?

Hi folks,

 

My wife needs to watch an instructional video that comes on a physical DVD. She wants to use her laptop, which has a DVD player via USB, but apparently doesn't have DVD software, and MEdia Player in Win 10 doesn't support DVD playing (why? for gods sakes, why?! [i know, licensing fees]).

 

What software do you recommend, preferably free? She needs to access the DVD menu, as she would on a regular DVD player. Not just "find biggest title and go."  I stopped watching physical discs a long time ago and my own computer is still win 7 :-) so has player software.

MPC-HC is my go-to but it doesn't support dvd menus which my wife needs on this training dvd.

What do you mean by MPC not supporting dvd menu?

Here, it operates menu just fine, and to get back in the menu, right-click anywhere and select Navigate, then either Main menu or Title menu.

If anything, I find it more intuitive than VLC...
