Really weird FFMPEG and Internet Explorer issue

Recommended Posts

Whenever I attempt to playback movies using the web browser interface via Internet Explorer on my LOCAL network, the FFMPEG process exits after a few seconds. I also see the exact same FFMPEG behavior if I use the Windows Phone 8 app on my local network.

Now here's the weird part... If I access these same movies using Chrome or Firefox on my local network, they playback fine. If I access my library REMOTELY (thru my firewall) via the Windows Phone 8 app they also playback fine.

So in a nutshell, for some reason FFMPEG does not like it when I try to playback movies using Internet Explorer or the Windows 8 App when I'm on my local network.

I'm running MB3 server on Windows 2012 Server, 99% of my movies are in ISO format, but the ones that are not ISOs also exhibit the same playback behavior.

Any advice would be appreciated.

HI, I presume IE is still buggy?  I don't use it but I was testing it for a user at thegreenbutton forum and I get this when trying to play Live TV,

Also, something else a bit weird. I have to refresh nearly every page in IE after I select something I.E. Click Live TV at the top left and nothing happens but I can see the proper address in the address bar so I click refresh and Live TV section appears. Click Guide and and I get a basic frame showing but again the address bar shows the correct page so I click refresh and the Guide appears and so forth for nearly all navigation.

Anyway, Chrome rocks!

Thanks

Edit: I have Allow HTML5 codecs... setting ticked and WebM Plugin installed.
