daign 2 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 I recently upgraded to Kodi 17 release and the latest beta of emby/titan. Is it possible to bind a key to "Delete from library" in the emby contextual menu in Kodi? I've been using the regular kodi delete and believe its the only delete that works. Can someone explain which I should be doing? Also, "skip emby contextual menu delete warning" setting doesnt work. I assume because emby isnt able to delete at all for some reason? I am unable to delete movies in Emby's web client, or via the Emby android app. The movie gets added immediately to the library again... See attached log. I tried deleting "iBoy" and a duplicate of "Officer Downe" just now and they're added right back. One other thing. Thanks for the help guys. D emby log.txt
Luke 42083 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Hi @@daign, welcome. Can you please enable debug logging in the server dashboard under Logs. Then restart the server and try to delete again. Then please attach the log from that. Thanks ! 1
daign 2 Posted March 3, 2017 Author Posted March 3, 2017 See attached. Just deleted 2 movies hacksaw ridge and a random movie that was wrongly named called "Pt 2 (1900) at 6:11pm... immediately I get an emby popup in chrome saying it was re-added to the DB. So odd. Thanks, D embylog.debug.txt
Luke 42083 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 The log seems to Pt 2 (1900) was deleted. Is it still showing in the web app?
daign 2 Posted March 3, 2017 Author Posted March 3, 2017 oddly enough no and it DID delete the file/folder. I just did another test. Deleted "D:/Movies/Sing (2016)" via web client in chrome. It deleted everything but the folder and the poster and still remains in the database. Refreshed and it comes up in movies and still in search/suggestions. So I restarted emby server just in case. Its still in the DB. Folder and Poster still remain on filesystem. It seems to be so hit or miss. The log seems to Pt 2 (1900) was deleted. Is it still showing in the web app?

Have you checked your file system after the delete? Tail the logs as you select the delete option.... I'm guessing permission issues... edit: We've previously tested deletes from a folder level https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44962-server-delete-artifacts-when-deleting-showmovie/ Edited March 3, 2017 by mastrmind11
daign 2 Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 Ok. Just rebooted emby server. It seems to be working within Emby web client. So odd. If it continues I'll try and trace it in the logs. Too many ways to delete. Think I'm confusing myself... That brings me to my question of deleting within Kodi. Deleting using the Kodi contextual menu leaves it in the emby db only to be sync'd again. Is it possible to map a key to emby's delete function in its contextual menu?
Luke 42083 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 @@daign, correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't the next emby library scan pick up the change made by kodi?
daign 2 Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 Nope. Kodi Contextual deletes do nothing on my setup. Fresh install of kodi 17 and Emby Beta DB... Have to do them through app, web or emby contextual. Thats why I ask if theres a quicker way. I'll be rebuilding the HTPC with a new mobo/cpu/ram soon and going with Win10. Hopefully it starts acting like it should. @@daign, correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't the next emby library scan pick up the change made by kodi?
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) When I want to lose a media item from Kodi, I right click-it and have a choice between a: Manage/Remove from library (which does not delete media file, only library entry, which will be re-added within seconds), and b: Emby Options/Delete item from server, this will delete the media. daign 2 Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 is there any way to bind that function to a key, say for use on a harmony remote? I guess I could create a multistep sequence to do it. Thanks @@jlr19 !
Luke 42083 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 @@jlr19 or @@xnappo is that kind of key to function binding possible in kodi?
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I do have a Harmony remote, but it does not control my dedicated pc (no infra red), I use a bluetooth kbd, so I wouldn't know the answer.
