legallink 187 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 I don't know if this has been reported or is being worked on, but the home screen of the Apple TV app mixes libraries in it's latest list. I have a separate library for shorts vs movies vs kids movies, and the latest list, because they are all technically movies, mixes them all into the same recommendation row. Would prefer them not being mixed.
ebr 16169 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 The latest lists on the home screens in all the TV apps are combined because there is no library scope there. Once you enter a library, however, that latest list will only contain items from that library. The web app does break these out right now (this is a recent change) but we haven't done that in the TV apps yet because it will potentially explode the number of rows in an interface where you are using a remote control to navigate. You can, using the "Home Screen" section of user preferences in the web app, define which libraries are included in the combined list. So, if you wanted to exclude certain ones, you could.
legallink 187 Posted March 2, 2017 Author Posted March 2, 2017 Yup, on the web app I have them segregated and they aren't mixed!
ebr 16169 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Its a tough call. On the Apple TV it wouldn't be so bad because you can scroll quickly with a swipe. But in other TV interfaces, it could add a lot of rows to the home screen.
legallink 187 Posted March 2, 2017 Author Posted March 2, 2017 Yup, if it is simply a design decision, then so goes it.
