chjohans 34 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 How can I change the name I gave the Emby server during installation? I can't find anything in the server dashboard, so I expected it to be in system.xml but I don't see it there either. How do I do this?
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 28, 2017 Solution Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Click the pencil on the Dashboard next to the server name. so I expected it to be in system.xml but I don't see it there either <ServerName>Home Media</ServerName> Edited February 28, 2017 by Happy2Play 1
Luke 42078 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Yes just use the interface to change your settings.
chjohans 34 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Doh, I need prescription glasses I guess. Right there in front of me in big letters with the "edit pen" behind it Thanks!
RobWayBro 28 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I am going to move to a new computer, how will changing the server name affect emby connect and remote connectivity?
Luke 42078 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I am going to move to a new computer, how will changing the server name affect emby connect and remote connectivity? You're going to do a fresh install on this new computer?
Luke 42078 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Ok you'll need to set those things up again. Your emby connect will still show your old server but you can easily delete that from the server selection screen.
RobWayBro 28 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 I actually ended up not having to do anything with connect and my old server is no longer available and my new one is. Thanks much,
Robert_84 4 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Just to jump in, I have the same problem. My Emby server is working fine, but devices cant connect to it anymore?!? I tried everything, Emby connect... or connect manually with IP or server name, always the same message Unable to locate server make sure it is online or whatever
