You definitely don't need both unless there is a specific reason you have both.  I would remove Mediabrowser.  I'm assuming you are talking about installed applications?

I assumed Emby server would have uninstalled the mediabrowser server but it has not, i thought i should ask just incase both are required, both are listed in the programs list in windows 7

well i tried to uninstall mediabrowser and it started to uninstall emby server. I tried to stop it. It has messed up my installation as i cant uninstall it now. I tried to install it a fresh but it does not download the files when you run the setup file. WHat a mess. The server is still working though, i cant remove it and i cant install it fresh again.

FYI anyone using Amazon Web Services (which includes Github and a lot of folks) is having trouble this afternoon due to an issue with Amazon.  That is probably why you had trouble re-installing.

I'm not sure how you got two installations, unless perhaps one was moved over from another machine or something.

This machine had mediabrowser installed way back. From what i remember ET was released and it still used the mediabrowser server. At some point it was updated to Emby server but it seems to have kept onto the mediabrowser server in my start menu programs and and in the installed programs list, when i attempted to uninstall the mediabrowser server it actually started to uninstall Emby server.

The download is working now but i dont use amazon or github. I use my htpc win7 and my laptop win7.

Our packages are hosted on Github which uses Amazon services.  Thus the interruption in our install processes.

every time i tried to uninstall emby server it crashed, windows 7 removed it from the installed programs list, i then deleted the folder and reinstalled today, ii then restored from my backup and everything seems back to normal now.
